KANPAY ESPWA KFC NASSAU 2019
KFC NASSAU’S ADD HOPE CAMPAIGN RAISES NEARLY $30,000 TO SUPPORT HANDS FOR HUNGER.
With its service extending beyond the four walls of its restaurants and into the local communities it serves, KFC Nassau accelerated its annual quest to help alleviate hunger in The Bahamas with the early launch of its Add Hope Campaign. Add Hope enables the local community, KFC customers and employees to donate to those facing food insecurity within Bahamian communities including those affected by Hurricane Dorian. This year, the campaign raised almost $30,000 to support leading local hunger-relief organization, Hands for Hunger. The donation will make a tangible impact by providing food for those in need through Hands for Hunger’s daily mission of tackling the hunger epidemic. For every $1 received Hands for Hunger is able to provide a nutritious meal to those who need it most.
KFC Nassau has partnered with Hands for Hunger for nearly 10 years through financial support, product donations, and employee volunteerism. The partnership between the two organizations enhances the shared passion to take action to help those in need. Through Hands for Hunger and its network of agencies and volunteers, KFC Nassau is able to reach local communities efficiently and effectively.
“We’re always proud to partner with Hands for Hunger to help address and reduce the significant issue of food insecurity in our local communities. This year, the need was even greater due to the unfortunate impact of Hurricane Dorian, which led us to launch our Add Hope Campaign earlier than usual, which allowed us to make an impact in a timely way,” said Eldira Backford, KFC Nassau Add Hope Campaign Ambassador. "We are grateful for the overwhelming response from the local public and our team in joining KFC and Hands for Hunger in our shared commitment to ending food insecurity one community at a time.”
KFC Nassau held its Add Hope award and cheque presentation on November 20th, acknowledging the hard work showcased by its staff during such a difficult time and presenting Hands for Hunger with a cheque for $29,357 to assist in providing access to nutritious food to Bahamians in need through its partnered agencies.
